Docs
Pages are typically referred to as ‘files’ in an editor. This is easy to understand as most editors are essentially ‘file editors’. For example, MS Word is an editor for .docx files, etc. In AFFiNE, pages are shown at the “all pages” section, where you can view, edit or manage them through filters and Collections.
There are also something that is different in AFFiNE from traditional “file editors” editors. In AFFiNE, all files are made up with blocks, and some blocks can be shared and synced in multiple pages. For example, when I am talking about “Evagelion”, one of my favorite animes with TV series and films, I am always referring to the same “Evagelion Page” or related blocks in my knowledge base. This is commonly supported through two-way-link and block references. With AFFiNE, blocks can be referenced or shared through linked pages or synced notes.
Just like you can have kanban, list, timeline and other views in your Notion database, blocks in AFFiNE can be grouped as databases with multiple views. Moreover, pages in AFFiNE can have two Page Mode, the edgeless mode and the paper mode.
